Although we haven't fully started anything for our main task I've already started to look for ideas and concepts in preparation so I'm not in a mad panic later when we officially start.
My first idea is based around the song by Glass Animals called Youth. The lyrics are from the perspective of a mother who gave up her young son so he could have a better happy life.

The official music video depicts these lyrics but in a more abstract way that its so obvious without the lyrics.
My idea also plays on the lyrics but shows it in a different way.
My video would follow a young teenage girl with a teddy which she carries round with her everywhere, at home, round town, with friends etc and it begins happy as she treats it as a baby trying to teach it to walk and playing with toys and the she begins to become more stressed. Shes trying to study and is instead having to care for it. eventually she puts in in a shipping box , taping it up and sending it to 'A happier place'. When another family then gets the box and takes out the teddy, the teddy changes from a teddy to a baby as it has been all along.
I like my idea as its a bit more possible for me to do in terms of finding actors and a teddy. I also quite like it not being so obvious and straight forward in story line.
However I am worried it will be considered to close to the original music video and that I may end up creating some similar shots such as slow motion and close up due to already seeing the original. I tend to be quite easily influenced.
I like it as a first idea but will keep my mind open to more.
