Slo Mo & Reverse

Wednesday, July 27, 2016

So as of Friday the 22nd (6 Days Ago) The Summer Holidays have began. However instead of relaxing I have decided to spend the summer practising different techniques I could use in music videos. I downloaded the trial version of Premiere Pro for my computer and started filming.
As an easy and quick starter I chose to play around with Slow motion and reversing clips based on the subject of water.

Not the most exciting video but practice is practice. Despite having used these techniques before I still learnt one or two things:-

  1.  Trying to focus the camera on running water is HARD.(At least for me)
  2.  Lowering the speed of a shot through premiere Pro makes it very stilted and doesn't flow as smoothly. I would like to look into a smother way of doing this so it appears a little less rigid.
  3. To put a shot for normal pace to reverse (Such as 0:26 - 0:34) cut the clips the be the same length first as normal and then reverse one of them. Trying to cut it once its reversed and then line it up to the original makes editing 10x more difficult.
