Media 2.0

Media 2.0 is a theory created by David Guantlett to represent the consuming of media throughout time. Media 2.0 is a term that reflects the changing focus of media studies in the light of the web and just how available media is now due to that.
Here's a lil sum up from a slide share I found:-
Media 1.0
- Celebrates key texts produced by media VIP's
- A focus on western mainstream traditional media
- Vague recognition of internet realm and new digital media as an ' add on' to traditional media (internets not as important)
Media 2.0
- Focus on everyday meaning created by the diverse array of audience members
- Recognises that the internet and digital media have changed how audiences engage with media
- An interest n independent media projects such as Youtube and other websites
Media 1.0 was about Find. Media 2.0 is about Filter.
